Frequently asked questions
How many outfits should I pack for a cruise?
Plan one daytime outfit per day, one evening outfit per night and one or two dressier outfits for formal or “cruise elegant” nights on a 7-night sailing. Re-wear basics to save space.
What items are banned on cruise ships?
Common bans include surge protectors, clothes irons and steamers, candles, drones and weapons. Every line publishes its own list, so check yours before packing.
Do I need a passport for a cruise?
A passport is strongly recommended. Some closed-loop cruises from the US accept other ID for US citizens, but a passport makes it easier to fly home from a foreign port if plans change. Check your cruise line’s requirements.
